The streets of fort Kochi holds a very special charm.
Strolling along the peaceful streets with its old colonial-era style of buildings, drinking a nice cup of coffee in one of the stylish Café’s, doing some shopping in the unique boutique shops – I just love the easy going pace and atmosphere of this area.
Here is my recommendations for the best places to stay in Fort Kochi:
1) Brunton Boatyard
My all-time favorite place to stay while in Kochi.
The CGH charm and touch for the details is sensed in every corner and aspect of the stay.
The location, The food, The pool, The staff, The design.
As it is just by the water, sometime there is a noise from the honking of ships that pass by there. For me it didn’t bother at all. But if you are a light sleeper, you might want to consider using ear plugs at night.
The price in Brunton boatyard is on the high side, but if you have the budget - I recommend you go for it…
2) Forte
The Forte is located in a prime location, on Princess Street in an old heritage building.
This boutique hotel is newly renovated, the rooms are beautifully decorated, there is a pool in the courtyard the service is great and the value for money you get here, makes it a very wise choice of hotel.
3) Old Harbour
This amazing property is located just opposite the famous Chinese fishing nets.
The lush Garden in the courtyard, the stylish rooms, the great service, and the ambiance in general, makes it one of the best places in the area.
4) Fragrant Nature
This beautiful hotel is located just between Fort Kochi and the Jew Town in Mattanchery.
The rooms here are very nice and comfortable, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is great. On the roof top there is a very good pool and a terrace restaurant.
As they have quite a lot of rooms, I chose this hotel few times while traveling with groups of about 20 people and they all were extremely happy.
5) Eighth Bastion
This is another property that belongs to the amazing CGH chain of hotels. This is a much smaller and cozy hotel, will less rooms and a very personalized service.
The location is Fantastic, very peaceful place not far from the sea and from the St. Fransis church.
The rooms are huge, and beautifully decorated.
